LPG flame weeding for chemical-free weed and pathogen control in intensive cropping, plus soil preparation and stubble management applications.
LPG flame weeding uses controlled bursts of intense heat (800-1000°C flame) to kill weeds and soilborne pathogens without chemical herbicides. The sudden heat causes cell fluid to expand and burst the weed - killing it without soil chemical residue. Flame weeding is particularly valuable for organic certification, inter-row weed management, and seedbed preparation.
BPCL Commercial LPG serves flame weeding applications in vegetable cultivation, cereal farming, cotton, sugarcane, orchards, nurseries, and railway/road right-of-way maintenance. LPG is also used for soil pasteurisation in protected cultivation (greenhouse) and for stubble management.
Flame weeding eliminates the need for pre-emergent herbicides - supporting organic certification.
Unlike chemical herbicides, flame weeding cannot create resistant weed biotypes.
Flame weeding cost per hectare is competitive with chemical herbicide programmes over a 3-5 year horizon.
Surface flame treatment kills weed seeds without deep soil penetration - preserving beneficial soil organisms.
Bulk piped LPG supply is also available for high-volume consumers. Contact BPCL to discuss your requirements.
