LPG as a cost-effective, stable propellant for pesticides, air fresheners, perfumes, cosmetics, spray paints, and personal care aerosol products.
LPG (primarily propane and butane mixtures) is one of the world's most widely used aerosol propellants. Its low boiling point, chemical inertness with most formulations, consistent vapour pressure, and low cost make it the preferred alternative to HFCs (134a, 152a) and DME for a wide range of aerosol applications.
BPCL supplies high-purity propane and butane to aerosol filling plants producing pesticide sprays, air fresheners, perfumes, deodorants, hair sprays, shaving foams, spray paints, furniture polishes, and industrial aerosols. LPG is also the fuel for LPG flame lighters and camping gas canisters.
LPG propellants cost 70-80% less than HFC alternatives, substantially reducing aerosol manufacturing COGS.
LPG is compatible with a wide range of solvents, active ingredients, and packaging materials.
LPG propellants are accepted globally and exempt from most HFC phase-down regulations.
Standard aerosol filling equipment handles LPG propellants without modification.
Bulk piped LPG supply is also available for high-volume consumers. Contact BPCL to discuss your requirements.
